Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB)

[unsoed.ac.id, Thu, 08/18/22] Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) for the academic year 2022/2023 takes place on August 12-14, 2022. This event is a vehicle to introduce and prepare new students in the process of transitioning into mature and independent students, as well as accelerating the adaptation process of students to a new environment by providing provisions for their success in pursuing higher education.

PKKMB is also an implementation venue for the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) Policy, as well as being a place to raise awareness of the importance of understanding globalization and the 4.0 industrial revolution where students are expected to become university alumni who have depth of knowledge, noble character, love for the homeland, and are global competitive empowered. The implementation of this activity follows the PKKMB 2022 Guidelines, Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology.

One of them is at the Faculty of Mathematics & Natural Sciences (F.MIPA) Unsoed which carries the theme "Explore potential, develop innovations as young scientists with good character and achievements". PKKMB is carried out in a blended manner; between online and offline, taking place in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Unsoed offline for two days and using a virtual meeting platform and Eldiru for online events on the third day.

In his report, the chairman of the committee, Anung Riapanitra, Ph.D, said that the PKKMB participants for the 2022/2023 academic year were attended by 337 new FMIPA students consisting of 109 new students from the Department of Chemistry, 116 freshmen from the Department of Mathematics and 112 from the Department of Physics. PKKMB FMIPA academic year 2022/2023 is filled with material about the introduction of campus life both academic and non-academic including material from the Dean of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Introduction to Departments and Filling in KRS by Heads of Departments, Secretary of Departments and all lecturers; material on scientific information center; materials to explore Student Creativity Program ideas; as well as counseling guidance materials on study planning and prevention of sexual violence by the Guidance and Counseling team of FMIPA Unsoed. PKKMB also presented speakers from FMIPA Unsoed alumni and from outside Unsoed.

For material on preventing and overcoming drug abuse, Yuni Gunawan, SIKom from the National Narcotics Agency of Banyumas Regency was invited. As a speaker on the material about Prospects of the World of Work and Motivational Training by alumnus of F.MIPA Unsoed, Dr. Wahyu Hidayat, M.Sc and the alumni team from the Department of Physics; Afri Permana, S.Si, and Richo Dwi Permadi, S.Si., M.Eng as alumni of the Department of Chemistry and Chrisna Gilang Permana, S.Si representing alumni of the Department of Mathematics were present.
