Unsoed Signed MoU and IA with Pukyong National University

[unsoed.ac.id., Fri, 23/06/23] Located at Hotel Tentrem Semarang, Unsoed, together with other 17 Indonesian public universities signed an MoU and IA with Pukyong National University, on Thursday (22/6). This MoU aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Korea in the fields of education, research, and student exchange between Indonesia and South Korea. The event was attended by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, Information and Public Relations, Dr. Sos. Waluyo Handoko, S.IP., M.Sc., leaders of UNNES, Pukyong National University and representatives from other public universities.

This activity was also attended by a number of important Indonesian figures such as DR. (H.C.) Puan Maharani, S.Sos. (Chairperson of The House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia/Alumnus of Pukyong National University), Dr. Hendrar Prihadi, S.E., M.M. (Head of LKPP/Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of UNNES), Ir. Hj. Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, M. Sos. (Mayor of Semarang), and H. Ahmad Muhdlor Ali, S.I.P. (Regent of Sidoarjo).

As the initiator of the collaboration, the Rector of UNNES, Prof. Dr. S. Martono, M.Sc., in his remarks conveyed the importance of cooperation between educational institutions to advance the world of education in both countries. He also stressed that this collaboation would open up new opportunities for students and lecturers in developing knowledge and expertise at the international level.

Meanwhile, the President of Pukyong National University, Prof. Dr. Youngsoo Jang expressed his joy at being able to establish partnerships with 17 Indonesian public universities. He said that this collaboration would strengthen cultural, research and innovation exchanges between the two countries, as well as to contribute in improving the quality of education in various fields.

For the next step, Unsoed together with 17 public univesities in Indonesia and Pukyong National University have planned to launch a more integrated student exchange program and expand the reach of research collaborations and hold joint activities such as international seminars and workshops to facilitate te exchange of ideas and experiences between lecturers and researchers.

“The signing of the MoU and IA with Pukyong University is expected to provide opportunities for lecturers and students to gain international experience, as well as a real step in supporting Unsoed’s vision of becoming a world-recognized university,” said the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, Information and Public Relations, Dr. Sos Waluyo Handoko, S.IP., M.Sc.
