Unsoed Students Won Silver Medal in GYIIF 2024
[unsoed.ac.id, Thrusday, 18/01/24] The student delegation of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) won another award at the international level. In Global Youth Invention and Innovation Fair (GYIIF) 2024, Unsoed team consisting of Mazaya Amalia Putri (Biology 2022), Devi Mei Ningrum (Chemistry 2023), Diva Setyaningtyas (Nutrition Science 2023), Nadila Garini (Pharmacy 2023), and Adrian Panjaitan (Food Technology 2021) with supervisor Sri Lestari S.Si., M.Si won the Silver Medal in the Innovation Science category.
The GYIIF competition is a scientific competition hosted by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA). The categories included Social Science, Environmental Science, Innovation Science, Life Science, Engineering and Technology, and Physics. Unsoed delegation competed in the Innovation Science category participated by 341 teams from 14 countries (Indonesia, Romania, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Iran, Uzbekistan, India, South Africa, and Singapore).
Mazaya said, at this event the Unsoed team presented a study entitled “BiCure: Biospray for Acne Problems in Teenagers from Fish by Products and Dadap Serep (Erythrina subumbrans) Leaf Extract.”
"This idea was obtained from the background of fishery by-product waste processing that has not been done optimally and the utilisation of existing natural resources to overcome acne problems in adolescents," she explained.
In this online competition, the judging was conducted on 11 January 2024 via Zoom Meeting. While the result (Awarding) was announced on 13 January 2024.
This achievement was gained as a proof that Unsoed students are able to compete with international students so that it can motivate other students to dare to excel in the international level.
