[unsoed.ac.id, Sat, 20/05/23] Unsoed delegates achieved international-level achievements again by obtaining a "Gold Medal" for writing scientific ideas in the Energy and Sustainable Development category, organized by EUROINVENT (European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation Romania) 2023. The event was initiated by the Romanian Inventors Forum, Europe Direct Iasi, Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi, and the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi. The annual competition was held on May 11-13, 2023, and was the 15th time the event was held.
Under the guidance of Ir. Priswanto, S.T., M.Eng and Drs. Agung Praptapa, MBA, PhD., Ak., CA., the Unsoed students team focused on an innovation entitled "LIWS (Lightning Ionization Water System): A Solution of Water Crisis to Increase the World's Clean Water Supply". The team which led by Egi Bachtiar (FEB) consisted of 6 members, including Wahyu Nur Rohman & Anwar Abdur Rosyid (Faculty of Engineering), Bimo Aditama Prabowo, Diva Nurafriani Shafa & Annisa Tiara Qurrota A'yun (Faculty of Economics and Business), and Ria Rohayati (Faculty of Agriculture),.
In this competition, the process of judging was carried out through online judging, including presentations, posters, and video models of the ideas. After going through various stages and selection of assessments for 5 months, starting from the formation of the team, the process of compiling ideas and papers, and making video models of LIWS ideas, the Unsoed team successfully competed with hundreds of other teams coming from various countries such as Angola, Argentina, Australia, Bulgaria, Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, China, Croatia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Korea, Lebanon, Macau, Macedonia, Malaysia, Moldova, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States of America, and Vietnam. This achievement is a wonderful gift for Unsoed, which will be 60 years old this year because the team had the opportunity to introduce an idea as a solution to the global clean water crisis. What makes them even more rewarding is that this new idea has become a breakthrough in the field of renewable and sustainable energy.
