Students of Faculty of Economics and Business, Unsoed Won Bronze Medal in Taiwan
[unsoed.ac.id, Mon, 04/03/24] International level achievements have been achieved once again by Unsoed delegation by obtaining Bronze Medal and Special Award from Highly Innovative and Unique Product (HIUF) Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the writing of scientific ideas for Personal Health Product category on Form of Invention in Commercialized Product, organized by Kaohsiung Invention and Design Expo (KIDE) 2023 at Kaohsiung Exhibition Center (KEC), Taiwan.
The event was initiated by the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA) and the Taiwan Invention Products Promotion Association (TIPPA). This year, the annual competition was held on November 30 - December 2, 2023.
Under the guidance of Dr. Rio Dhani Laksana S.E., M.Sc., CFP, CSA, CAPM, the Unsoed student team raised an innovation entitled DeoMoringa: Anti-Inflammatory, Antioxidant, and Organic Deodorant Made from Moringa Olievea Leaf to Utilize Moringa Production from farmers in community groups at the Appropriate Technology Service Post in Pekandangan Sangra Village, Sumenep, Indonesia. The team led by Diva Nurafriani Shafa (FEB) consists of 6 members, namely Riska Wahidah (FEB) Ezzra Rawda Pervilian (FEB), Rafi Triyanto (FT) Pandu Nusantara Handoko (FEB), Maula Muizzil Anam (FEB), and Nabilla Zallianty (FEB).
Kaohsiung Invention and Design Expo (KIDE) 2023 is an innovation and design exhibition competition organized and juried by the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA) and Taiwan Invention Products Promotion Association (TIPPA).
The exhibition took place from November 30 to December 2, 2023, and was held at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, located at No. 39, Chenggong 2nd Road, Qianzhen District, Kaohsiung City, 806, Taiwan. The participating teams' countries of origin are Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Morocco, Philippines, Poland, Qatar, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United States, and Vietnam.
Diva Nurafriani Shafa as the leader felt very pleased to be able to participate in this event and to show her abilities with the team in the international arena.
"This is a valuable experience for the team because we can participate in offline competitions in Taiwan and gain many new relationships and knowledge," explained Diva.
Diva and the team had experienced time constraints in participating in this competition, which was the organization of the competition which was very close to the odd Final Semester Examination (UAS) schedule, making her needed to be extra careful in separating her study hours and preparation for this competition.
"As this competition was held close to the odd Final Semester Examination (UAS), there was very little time to prepare for the competition, but we were still excited to take part in the competition and with this achievement it became a motivation for other student friends not to despair and always try to pursue dreams, hopefully with the emergence of many achievements from the academic and non-academic fields can make our beloved university more advanced and victorious," said Diva.
