Moving Simultaneously Continue to Work in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic
[unsoed.ac.id, Thu, 23/09/21] Universitas Jenderal Soedirman/ Unsoed held an Open Session of the Senate for the 58th Anniversary of UNSOED, Thursday (23 /9) with the theme "Moving Simultaneously Continue to Work in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic". The event took place offline and online in the Meeting Room of the Unsoed Rectorate First Floor. On this occasion, the Rector Prof. Dr. Ir Suwarto MS conveyed Unsoed's achievements and contributions over the past year.
In the Rector's annual report, Prof. Dr. Ir. Suwarto MS said that the character of General Sudirman's fighting spirit, namely moving forward, never giving up, not knowing defeat, really became a spirit for the entire UNSOED academic community, to continue to move and work to realize the vision, "Becoming a university which is recognized by the world as a center for developing rural resources and local wisdom by 2034”.
"The Covid-19 pandemic that we have faced together for almost two years, cannot stop UNSOED's steps to creating a better future. On the other hand, it encourages UNSOED to accelerate the pace of adapting to the situation,” said the Rector.
The Rector said that in the 2021/2022 academic year, UNSOED had become the choice for 115,548 prospective students who wanted to continue their studies in higher education. Through a rigorous and accountable selection process, UNSOED accepted 5,228 students, with a tightness ratio of 1:24 for undergraduate and diploma levels. Even the Social and Social Security group UNSOED was included in the top 10 PTNs with the highest UTBK average score for the SBMPTN entry route. In 2021, UNSOED has facilitated students from underprivileged communities as much as 24.08% of the total new students, through the Indonesia Smart College Card (KIP-K) and UKT level I and II scholarship programs. There are also 27 students from rural areas, 3T areas (Lagged, Outermost, and Foremost), as well as Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) through the Higher Education Affirmation (Adik) program. Students from various socio-economic backgrounds, are a mandate for UNSOED that should be grateful for and managed well.
UNSOED always maintains the maximum quality of learning, including responding to the Independent Learning-Independent Campus (MBKM) Policy. The implementation of MBKM begins with establishing policies to facilitate the curriculum relaxation process and applying learning innovations using Case Based Methods and Project Based Learning. UNSOED has also improved the Learning Management System infrastructure, namely Universitas Jenderal Soedirman's E-Learning (eLDirU) and improvements to the Academic Information System (SIA) to accommodate the needs of students participating in the MBKM program.
UNSOED's readiness to accelerate the MBKM program, UNSOED received several funding grants, including curriculum collaboration grants, study program grants to become Center of Excellence models, curriculum collaboration grants, and MBKM implementation League-2 grants for the Independent Campus Competition Program (PK-KM). ) and Matching Fund grants, with a total value of not less than Rp. 7.5 billion.
UNSOED also continues to move to improve its status accreditation. Until August 2021, 6 study programs have increased their accreditation status. One study program (1.3%) accredited Excellent, 42 study programs (52.5%) accredited A, 2 study programs (2.5%) accredited Very Good, 32 study programs (40%) accredited B, 1 study program (1.3%) accredited Good and 2 study programs (2.5%) accredited C. Unsoed Central Library per September 9, 2021 also gained the accreditation of A from Republic Indonesia National Library. Reputation is not only built through the acquisition of accreditation status but also through the achievements and recognition of UNSOED experts at the international level. In the Year 2021, UNSOED entered the ranks of the top 20 universities in Indonesia in research and innovation ranking based on Scimago Institutions Rankings (SIR) by 2020.
Furthermore, the Rector said that the pandemic Covid-19 has become a momentum for all UNSOED citizens to contribute in the field of humanity. In 2021, UNSOED will fully implement the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Thematic Community Service Program which was attended by 3,366 students and involved 243 Field Supervisors (DPL). Its locations are spread throughout Indonesia. In addition, 24 (12%) titles of community service activities focused on preventing, handling and overcoming Covid-19 and other impacts.
Student management is carried out at UNSOED since new students are accepted through the Student Character and Personality Development (PKKM) program, and competitive programs. UNSOED students are also included in the top 15 PKM funding in 5 fields with 86 activity titles. In the Holistic Village Development and Empowerment Program (PHP2D), UNSOED passed 10 proposals. In the fields of interest, talent and reasoning, UNSOED students won 17 medals at the international level, and 29 medals at the national level.
Through various efforts to improve information services and self-improvement, at the end of 2020 to 2021 UNSOED was awarded the title Towards Informative from the Central Information Commission, the Second Best Display of the Official Website in the Dikti Public Relations Award and the Third Best in the Video E-Tour competition for the PTN category.
The Rector invited all components of the UNSOED extended family to stay and keep moving by increasing optimism, creativity and productivity, as well as maintaining solidarity for the progress of UNSOED and the Indonesian nation. "Building UNSOED's vision as a Center for Rural Resource Development and Local Wisdom that is recognized by the world in 2034 requires hard work, togetherness and courage," concluded the Rector.
Coinciding with the 58th Anniversary of UNSOED, the UNSOED Profile Video Launching 2021 was also held.
