New Student Admission Ceremony: Independent, Advanced and Global
[unsoed.ac.id, Mon, 08/08/22] A total of 6,016 new students at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) were inaugurated in the Open Session of the Student Admissions Senate New Academic Year 2022/2023. The event took place at the Graha Widyatama Auditorium Prof. Rubijanto Misman, Monday (08/8).
Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs / WR I Dr.Ir Noor Farid M.Si said the students who were accepted were the result of the selection, namely the National Selection of State University Students (SNMPTN), Joint Selection of State University Students (SBMPTN), Independent Examination ( SPMB UTBK, SPMB Non UTBK, SPMB Profession, SPMB Postgraduate), and Lecture Exchange Program. "Through the selection mechanism above, thank God, 6,016 students were successfully screened out of 118,668 applicants," said WR I.
WR I added that Unsoed was also the home of 42 students from 12 countries, namely Japan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Yemen, Papua New Guinea, East Timor, Sudan, Nigeria, Libya, and Ghana.
“This year's Unsoed students come from all over the archipelago. This is actually a strong capital to strengthen our Indonesianness through interactions that respect each other's diversity and local wisdom which is the hallmark of this nation. Likewise, the trust of Unsoed by students from abroad shows that we are on the track towards a university that is recognized by the world, especially as one that excels in the center of developing rural resources and local wisdom,” explained WR I.
Chancellor Prof.Dr. .Ir Akhmad Sodiq M.Sc.,Agr in his speech said that for some time to come, campus will become a space and time where you as a student will proceed to become a person who grows and develops. Grow intellectually and professionally, through science and technology learned in accordance with the field of science. At the same time, you also develop character and personality, through positive, constructive, and achievement interactions and student activities according to your interests and talents.
“It is Unsoed's commitment to be with you to achieve a better future. It is Unsoed's commitment to strive continuously and provide guarantees so that you have the opportunity to own and win the future. It is Unsoed's commitment to equip you to be a part of the future, starting from now on," said the Chancellor.
Furthermore, the Chancellor said the future that will be faced later, is marked by changes that are so fast and dynamic, has the complexity of problems that are interrelated with each other, demands competitive qualifications and competencies, globalization is increasingly removing geographical and cultural barriers and so on the coloring of human life with information technology. The future has such extraordinary challenges, but at the same time provides equal opportunities as long as we are able to read the signs of the times. The future belongs to those with character, to those who contribute and to those whose capacity is recognized! "Therefore, in this honorable forum, so that we are ready and not surprised to enter the future, I invite students to be independent, advanced and global!", said the Chancellor.
Ending his remarks, the Chancellor on behalf of himself, residents and university leaders said, welcome to the new students of the Class of 2022 on the campus of the Great Commander Jenderal Soedirman. "Thank you for your trust in this alma mater, as a place to learn and reach for the future," concluded the Chancellor.
Symbolically, the acceptance of new students was marked by the use of an alma mater coat by the Chancellor accompanied by WR I, and was followed simultaneously by new students. Followed by giving the Rector's Decree to the Deans and Postgraduate Directors. On the occasion, there was also a public lecture delivered by the Secretary General of the MPR RI, Dr. Ma'ruf Cahyono SH., MH who delivered the material with the title"National Values".
