Public Lecture: Financial Statement Preparation in Global Setting

[unsoed.ac.id, Mon, 06/12/21] In applying international accounting standards, financial reporting uses International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The modern economy relies on cross-border transactions and the free flow of international capital. Because of this change in reporting standards, in order to increase students' knowledge and scholarship related to IFRS Standards, the Bachelor of Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Jenderal Sudirman (UNSOED) held an Accounting Public Lecture. The Public Lecture carries the theme Financial Statement Preparation in Global Setting on Friday, November 26, 2021, which was held online using the Zoom Meetings application.

The moderator was Novita Puspasari, SE., M.Sc., Ak., CA. with guest lecturer Dr. ILDIKÓ ORBÁN from the University of Debrecen, Hungary. He is the Head of the Accounting Department, Institute of Accounting and Finance, Economics and Business Faculty at University of Debrecen, Hungary.

The activity was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business UNSOED, Prof. Wiwiek Rabiyatul Adawiyah, Ph.D. This activity was attended by approximately 200 student participants from the Faculty of Economics and Business, both from D3, S1, Profession and Masters study programs. In his presentation, the speakers explained about IFRS and its application in global business. The presentation of the material lasted for approximately 90 minutes then followed by a discussion session. In the discussion session, participants were very enthusiastic about asking materials related to the application of IFRS standards. The event was closed by giving certificates to the speakers.
