UNSOED Inaugurates Three New Professors
[unsoed.ac.id, Thurs, 28/07/22] Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) Inaugurated a new Professor again, Thursday (28/7). This time Unsoed inaugurated 3 (three) professors, namely Prof. Dr. Triana Setyawardani S.Pt., MP as professor of Animal Products Technology Science, Prof. Dr. Eng Agus Maryoto ST., MT as Professor of Concrete Technology, and Prof. Dr.Ir Tamad M.Si as Professor of Soil Science.
Prof. Triana Setyawardani, Prof. Agus Maryoto and Prof. Tamada is listed as the 86th, 87th and 88th professor at Unsoed. There is also Prof. Triana Setyawardani who became the 22nd professor at the Faculty of Animal Science, Prof. Agus Maryoto as the 3rd professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Prof. Tamad is the 11th professor at the Faculty of Agriculture.
The Chancellor of Unsoed Prof.Dr.Ir Akhmad Sodiq M.Sc.,Agr in his speech said that universities have a responsibility as a comfortable place to spark the birth of new scientific knowledge that is in line with the developments and needs of the times. The campus becomes a meeting place between the ideal world and the world of reality, where science and technology become a bridge as well as a means to make it something real. "This strategic role is certainly something where UNSOED must be present and become an inseparable part of the spirit in making science and technology that has beneficial values for people's lives," said the Chancellor.
Furthermore, the Chancellor said that the thoughts of the three professors who had just been inaugurated were really encouraging for all of us as university people, because they not only gave birth to new ideas, but always contextualized the dynamics of people's lives.
Prof. Dr Triana Setyawardani S.Pt.,MP in her scientific oration delivered material with the title "Development of Local Cheese as Functional Food". It was stated that the development of local cheese as a functional food is an effort to produce food products that not only meet the needs of macronutrients, but also produce food products that contain bioactive components that can physiologically improve health and immunity. Bioactive components can be in the form of probiotics, bioactive peptides and also phytochemicals from various types of herbs. “The COVID-19 pandemic is not yet completely over, and therefore efforts to always maintain body resistance are very important. The development of cheese based on local resources will also encourage the production of processed cheese products in Indonesia, which until now, most of them are still supplied by imported products,” said Prof. Triana.
Prof. Dr Eng Agus Maryoto ST., MT conveyed the title "Calcium Stearate Makes Concrete More Waterproof". It was stated that the use of calcium stearate has proven that the waterproofness of concrete can be increased so that corrosion attacks on concrete reinforcement can be minimized. The application of calcium stearate in concrete is expected to increase the service life of civil buildings made of reinforced or prestressed concrete. Efficiency in the use of state money can be done by knowing the positive effects on concrete.
Meanwhile, Prof.Dr.Ir Tamad M.Si delivered an oration entitled "Masha Allah Microbes Also Communicate". It was stated that beneficial microbial communication engineering seeks to accelerate and increase the expression of its effectiveness, while in harmful microbes it seeks to inhibit the expression of its effectiveness. The application of the second statement is an alternative to overcome or prevent the emergence of pathogens or diseases. Efforts to accelerate or increase the expression of the effectiveness of beneficial microbes are positive efforts, among others, on microbial agents of biological fertilizers or biological pesticides. “Microbial phosphate is useful for increasing the availability of phosphorus in soils with low phosphorus availability, including Andisol. The effectiveness of microbes in enriched organic fertilizers is increased by adding food sources and quorum sensing signal sources,” said Prof. Tamad.
