FIKes UNSOED Holds International Conference In Health Sciences
[unsoed.ac.id, Wed, 22/09/21] The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKes) Unsoed again held an international seminar (International Conference In Health Sciences / ICHS )". This time is the 4th event with the main theme "Virtual Care and Remote Medicine: Reshaping Health Care in Response to the Covid-19 Pandemic". The event lasted for two days (22-23 September 2021) virtually via Zoom Meeting.
The chairman of the seminar committee Dadhang Wahyu Kurniawan M.Sc said that ICHS is an annual conference that includes updates and research in the health sciences including nursing, pharmacy, nutrition, public health and physical education. This conference catalyzes knowledge and experience among scientists, academics, doctors, students, and policymakers to bridge the gap between theory and practice. "It is hoped to share knowledge related to the current state of research in several countries. During this pandemic, we invite speakers to explain how the conditions and handling of covid-19 are," he said. This activity was attended by lecturers, students, and researchers from various agencies such as the BKKBN, Balitbangkes, and others. A total of 180 papers were submitted, and 773 participants who are members of the zoom meeting.
Rector Unsoed in his written statement, which the Vice Rector read for Planning, Cooperation & Public Relations, Dr. Ir V Prihananto M.Si, welcomed all speakers and participants who attended the Fourth International Conference on Health Sciences (ICHS). In the era of society 5.0, the work environment is expected to highlight the use of Information and Communication Technology, reduce physical effort, and increase social and intellectual tasks. During the COVID-19 pandemic, most workplaces in 2020-2021 also felt the impact. "Improving technology, especially in the field of ICT has made virtual care and telemedicine easier," said the Rector.
As a higher education institution, Unsoed aspires to produce quality graduates with significant professional knowledge, innovative ideas, and excellent skills to respond to technology, economic, and society changes. Therefore, Jenderal Sudirman University is very intense in supporting the scientific community to provide solutions, including virtual care and remote medicine, and related aspects towards a smart society 5.0. "We hope that in this forum ideas, plans and actions will emerge to address health problems during and after the pandemic," the Rector hoped.
As the Keynote Speaker, Dr.dr.Maxi Rein Rondonuwu DHSM,MARS (from the Ministry of Health) In his presentation, conveyed the pandemic prevention strategy which aims to inhibit transmission, prevent and reduce morbidity & mortality. Ensure the availability of Health services for those in need, maintain the continuity of essential public services, and provide accurate & timely information for policy making & community empowerment. Furthermore, strategies to deal with the surge in cases were also conveyed, namely Detection, Therapeutics, and Vaccination.
This seminar also presented speakers Prof.Dr.Ir Wim Hennink (University of Utrecht, Netherland), Prof.Emma Thomson (University of Glasgow, United Kingdom), Prof.Taifo Mahmud (Oregon State University, USA), Associate Prof.Dr Lim Boon Hooi (Universiti Malaya, Malaysia), Dr.Foo Leng Huat (Universiti Sains, Malaysia), and Heny Ekowati S.Si, M.Sc.,Ph.D.,Apt (Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Indonesia).
The sub-themes in this seminar include Advanced health technology and medical treatment; Communicable and non-communicable diseases; Pharmaceutical sciences; Nursing care; Clinical pharmacy; mental health; Health promotion and education; Health policy, health services and health economics; Biomedical sciences; Maternal and child health; Nutrition and functional food; Sports sciences; Environmental and occupational health; Gender equity and social inclusion in health.
