UNSOED and UNITAL Timor Leste MoU Signing

[unsoed.ac.id, Sunday, 23/07/22] Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (UNSOED) continues to build international cooperation networks with foreign universities . This time, UNSOED collaborated with East Timor's Oriental University (UNITAL), Saturday (23/7). The collaboration is contained in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by UNSOED Chancellor Prof.Dr.Ir Akhmad Sodiq, M.Sc.,Agr, and UNITAL Chancellor Drs.Florindo Pereira M.Si.,Ph.D which is located in the Ballroom on the 5th Floor of the Building Integrated Academic Building (IAB) UNSOED.

The purpose of this MoU is to develop and maintain a sustainable relationship between the two institutions. This relationship will provide opportunities for institutional members (academic, administrative and professional staff) as well as students to actively participate in the educational programs of both institutions.

UNITAL Chancellor and Vice Chancellor for Planning, Cooperation, Research & UNITAL Postgraduate were present. From UNSOED, attended the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Vice Chancellor for Planning, Cooperation & Public Relations, Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Head of the PKIH Bureau, Head of UPT International Services, Coordinator for Cooperation & Implementation of the IRO Program, Coordinator of Cooperation & Public Relations, and Staff of UPT International Services.

The objectives of the collaboration between UNSOED and UNITAL include the fields of Academics, Research and Community Service including: lecturer exchanges, student exchanges, research and joint scientific publications.

UNITAL Chancellor, Drs.Florindo Pereira M.Si.,Ph.D expressed his gratitude for this partnership. “Through this collaboration, we hope to improve the quality of human resources and activities related to academics, education, and community service. In addition, this collaboration has produced good results for both nations/countries, and both universities," he said.

UNSOED Chancellor Prof.Dr.Ir Akhmad Sodiq, M.Sc., Agr, in his speech said that cooperation is a necessity in the development of higher education. Recognition of the capacity and quality of the institution, one of which is assessed from how the campus is networked with various stakeholders. "Through this partnership, it is hoped that there will be a transfer of knowledge and transfer of value, all of which lead to the transformation of campuses in producing graduates and outputs of ideas, and works that are in accordance with the needs of society, industry, business and work," said the Chancellor.

The Chancellor added that Unsoed will always be called and honored, with the assignments and capacities they have, networking with fellow higher education people, especially in participating in strengthening human resource development through collaboration between campuses.
